Customised Wevo materials for flow batteries: everything you need to know at a glance

Wevo has developed special polyurethane-, epoxy- and silicone-based adhesives, sealants, potting compounds and encapsulants with the aim of promoting technological progress and upscaling production in the flow battery segment. Our latest brochure provides a comprehensive overview of the many potential uses of these materials.

Our new brochure provides information on Wevo materials for flow batteries.

As flow batteries are in many cases still being assembled by hand, automating the manufacturing process is crucial if this technology is to become widespread.

To support this, Wevo has developed special materials that can be applied as a liquid CIPGs (cured-in-place gaskets) or FIPGs (formed-in-place gaskets). In addition to the innovative sealants – which also permit three-dimensional sealing structures –, the portfolio includes adhesives and potting compounds that, among other things, enable significantly greater freedom in stack design.

Another important quality feature of all Wevo products for flow batteries is their high degree of chemical resistance in a wide range of electrolytes. Particularly noteworthy is their high resistance to the aggressive sulphuric acid vanadium electrolyte to be found in vanadium redox flow batteries, which are in wide use.
